Bolton Manganese Bronze Ltd, formerly Cerro Manganese Bronze Ltd, is a member of the Bolton MKM Group
of Companies. The company was established in London in 1876. It was one of the first in the world to extrude
aluminium bronze and other copper based alloys. In the proceeding years, we have become a world leader in
the manufacture of bronzes and special brasses by extruding, forging or hot rolling.
Bolton Manganese Bronze has a global reputation for quality which has enabled us to be recognised by the
majority of the world’s leading contractors for defence and aerospace. The company has approvals to
ISO 9001:2000, AS9100 Rev B, Boeing, Airbus, Rolls Royce, British Areospace, British Airways, Raytheon,
Messier Dowty world wide and many others.
Alloys can be released to the majority of international specifications and the subsequent data sheets covers

Analysis is conducted at the casting stage,
by an X-ray spectrographic method as
illustrated in the photograph, with records
being maintained for 20 years. This ensures
that our alloys comply with the chemical
analysis requirements.

Over 90% of the orders processed within
the company require full certification.
Mechanical testing is conducted by the
latest Avery Denison computer controlled
tensile machine in conjunction with
hardness, impact and micrographic
examination.

In addition to analysis, mechanical testing,
visual inspection and dimensional checks,
we also regularly carry-out ultrasonic testing
procedures. Here again certification is
prepared in line with the requirements
of National and International Standards and
recognised release bodies
